For our TV pilot advertiser unit we had to come up with an idea for a drama/ sitcom, ours developed to be based around the life of a group of models and the darker side of the run way. Over the period of time we had to create teaser clips, posters, a twitter and facebook page and QR codes to lead the public to all of these things we were very happy with the work we had produced and think we worked very well as a group.
During the making of our TV pilot advertiser we came across a few legal issues like copyrighting, we had to make sure no logos or brands were present in our posters and teaser clips. In order to do this we used Photoshop to hide anything that could cause problems with copyrighting. We also had to email a copyright holder to ask for permission to use the music we wanted to use in our teaser clips.
We constantly referred to the project brief to avoid straying away from the tasks at hand. I think we met the brief criteria to a very professional standard. We created a TV drama for a younger demographic audience of 16-35yr olds. We then accomplished a viral advertising campaign though posters, teaser clips, logos photo shoots and social networking sites like; tumblr, facebook, twitter and youtube. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
As a team we generated ideas and stayed in contact using facebook and other Medias to destitute tasks. This was also a good way to contact our tutor to book equipment and rooms. A different team member would take responsibility of this each week. We also had regular team meetings to discuss our achievements so far and what we still needed to work on using first priority first. We faced some problems along the way like having two new members joining the group. Amie and I had the difficult task to catch up on everything that the two other girls Sacha and Hollie had already come up with prior to us joining the class. This also proved as a bit of a problem for Sacha and Hollie who had to adapt some of the ideas and plans they had already made to accommodate the change in the group dynamics. When it came to distributing roles in the group we decided in order to get the most out of the project and develop more skills we would all do a little bit of everything which turned out to be the best way to go about it in the end. We all felt as though we had learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed this project!
During the making of our viral advertisement campaign we did not spend any money. We managed to keep our costs so low buy borrowing any equipment from the college when we needed it and bringing in things like props from home which Scott also helped us with. We did our own hair and make up and costumes were our own clothes which helped highlight each significant personality. We hired two male models that were under the age of 18 who signed contributor release forms as permission to enable us to use their pictures in our campaign. We decided to be actresses in the group to save money and it meant that we could trust who we were working with. We had a ten pound budget that we did not need to touch in the end thanks to the group pulling together and helping out where we all could with anything that could have cost us money.
We managed to keep to our production schedule fairly well. the only problems we faced was if a team member was absent which meant another group member would have to take on an extra role or we would come into college on our free days to work on what we needed to. We managed to hand in all work on time and to a professional standard. If we had extra time to work on out campaigns we would develop our posters a little longer, and create some more teaser clips to strengthen the awareness of our Drama to the public.
within out Final teaser clip we had a short scene of an innocent looking teenage girl pretending to snort cocaine, we were not sure if this was appropriate to show in an advertisement so consulted Ofcom the regulatory body to check it was okay. When they got back to us they explained that it was not appropriate to show the girl pretending to inhale the substance but shortening the clip to infer that someone was taking drugs would be fine which is exactly what we did and we feel that the way we edited the clip in the end made it more effective.
From our teaser clips we received very positive feed back with over 200 views on one and 6 likes! and a comment which read “good work guys.”. 25 people liked our facebook page, in support and we have been tweeted my different people on tweeter, helping to spread the word.
Overall we have worked incredibly well as a group and produced work that we are all very proud of. i have really enjoyed this project. It has given me a good picture of what I want to be doing in the future. It has given me a good understanding of how to gain the attention of the public and how many different techniques of doing this there is to choose from.

The opinion leader in cyber-bullying moral panics would be anyone who is against social medias, their opinion is fed through television, radio or even newspapers and adopted by the audience.
information ——> opinion leader ——> media ——> audience
The hypodermic needle theory is based around a passive audience. A passive audience is fed information without realising. The intended message is directly accepted by the chosen audience. The audience then takes on opinions of others based on what they have seen and heard. It was used during the second world war by Hitler to persuade people the Jews were bad using posters.
The Hypodermic Needle Modle Theory is the idea that information is being passed to audiences by different medias, without the audience realising it they are accepting this information and making it their own opinions or beliefs.
